Hope for our church,
community & future cities.

A strategic next step of Cottage Grove Church is to build on the momentum and growth that’s been witnessed in our first two years.

The Revive campaign seeks to proclaim and display new life in Christ by maximizing our facilities, investing in our community, and preparing for our future.

Maximizing our facilities.

80% of Fundraising Goal

We believe God is calling us to start raising funds to begin construction on our basement so we can further expand our ministry capabilities and reach for our church, neighborhood, and city. As it stands now, we are bursting at the seams in our current ministry space and our desire is to allow for more even more ministry in the future.

Investing in our community.

10% of Fundraising Goal

We want Cottage Grove Church to be a resource to our community and a contributing member of this neighborhood. Whether that means allowing for the building to be used for community events or for Cottage Grove to be investing in our local neighborhood parks, we want the message to be clear that we love the Drake Neighborhood and City of Des Moines.

Preparing for our future.

10% of Fundraising Goal

We are a church planted by another church. We want to be a church that plants churches that plants other churches. As you can tell, we love church planting! We want to be readily able to make the moves we believe God is calling us to when it comes to church planting.

Our Goals

Our financial goals for the Revive campaign are insignificant to the hope we have in Christ for our church, city, and future cities. We are praying for lives to be changed and for people to be Revived by the Good News.

The Cottage Grove Church Story

Two years ago Cornerstone Church of Ames mobilized a group of people to plant Cottage Grove Church in the Drake Park neighborhood of Des Moines, Iowa. The mission of this church plant was, and still is, to reach both the city and the campus for the glory of God alone.

Before Cottage Grove’s first service, the opportunity presented itself to purchase Cottage Grove Presbyterian Church in the Drake Park neighborhood. This building is located within blocks of the Drake University campus and finds itself right in the middle of the city life and campus life. By God’s grace, Cottage Grove became rightful owners of the building during the summer of 2016 and began to restore this beautiful building with the help of hundreds of volunteers during that summer.

Since the first service on August 21, 2016, Cottage Grove has seen God lead many people to follow Him including over 50 people following Him in obedience to be baptized. Cottage Grove also launched a college ministry, The Salt Company, in 2016. The staff team has grown from 2 people to 13 people since the start of this church and regular attendance is now over 725 people since the beginning of 2018. There are no signs of things slowing down!
